Funny Lady of the 1960s

Hollywood’s Lucille Ball, loved by many,
had an enormously profound effect on me.

She was funny and kind and goofy,
and so wonderful, she lit up my 1960’s TV.

My favorite show of hundreds of thousands
is of her and Ethel making candy.

Until Carol Burnett came along, I thought a funnier
woman could never be.

This gorgeous entertainer will probably never
know the enormous effect she has on me still today.

Many an evening I laugh until I cry at her
funny antics on my TV, I love to watch her play.

I always ended up laughing so hard that I ended up with elephant tears streaming down my face and my sides aching. It's no surprise that they became good friends; their quality of humor is priceless. I loved the candy making episode, too.

Thank you. It was my first try at a marsiya.

Yes, she was fantastic! another favorite of mine was when she was into time management and made fried eggs for breakfast a week or so in advance! And I absolutely ADORE Carol Burnett...my favorite of her skits was the Gone With the Wind where she wears the drapes complete with curtain rod. I can cry laughing about that right now!

I have pictured her doing it right now, and I see that smug smile and Harvey Korman trying not to crack up on stage. I have always wondered if it was the first time he SAW that costume.
