Sometimes it's that vein of dark, dark humour that helps us cope with traumatic situations. Well written!

Very creative and audacious, Jan. Finding humor in sad situations is a rare thing. Lifts heavy spirits w/light-hearted humor. Ty for the joy ride. I think footles was meant for wise cracking ghetto guys like me. I can excel in this ... drop dead tomb head. Well I'll keep practicing. Nice write though. Much love from the RW (Romantic Warrior.)

Awww, yeah, I understand that and I give you a belated HUG :) At the funeral of my friends father they accidentally didn't play a Bach cantate, but a sing-along-song. It was horrible and hilarious the same time. Everyone laughing and the tension was gone, it was good.

I can write humour at the drop of a hat even in the most difficult circumstances - I have another early poem 'lettuce pray' about a funeral - it could only happen to me - a true story:-) hugs Jan xx

I still try and maintain a sense of humour Rhonda:-) - thankfully the coffin came in on a trolley - guess health and safety has stopped it being carried now! :-) Hugs Jan xx

G'day Jan... They say that there's a touch of humour in everything Jan and I guess a numb bum and fear of droppin' the coffin may not be humour but its something to think about. Regards Jan - Lindsay

I am glad that all went well for you and your humor helped carry you through. The choice of a footle for the final poem and for today was very good. I hope that everything will start improving for you soon and the rest of the year is tranquil and happy. Love Shane xxx

I wanted to post something before the funeral today Maurice - thought i could combine sadness of the funeral with a little humour - in fact there was much humour in the service and he was wheeled in not carried in so no chance of being dropped!:-) Hugs jan xx

clever, these are bittersweet, sadness tinged with humour...I'm hopeless at footles but you have a natural aptitude for them - hugs to you, charlotte
