Full Moon, Silver Night

Snow
Shining white
Still and soft
Shows silhouette shadows
Of the willow's slim fingers
Under a full silver moon

Black limbs of lace
Shadow dance in the flickering light
Of this full moon of shining silver

Like a shade, a cloud closes
Darkness slides over its beaming face
Dimming the shine of the full silver moon

Somewhere an artist's brush touches the canvas
Revealing the true color of the moon's painted face
