Fueled By Belief

The neophyte apostle Thomas,
was filled with doubt and inhibition.
Knowing Christ had died,
his faith began to flounder.
For Judas’s lecherous betrayal
had transformed faith’s flame
into embers;
left to smolder in his heart.
He saw Jesus’s death
as Divine Providence,
and the rumors of His resurrection
as bombast!
He nursed a dolorous heart;
broken by grief.
But, when he looked upon the face of Jesus
and placed his fingers in His wounds,
he wept tears of joy;
fueled by belief.
