Frustration With the American Climate of Massacres
At what point do we as a society built on the fundamental
Ideals of trust, love, protection
Decide that violence can be prevented?
Decide that choices lead to consequences
That mar and destroy the lives we claim are sacred?
At what point do enough children barely alive and still growing
Get shot before they can thrive?
At what point does a hobby, does an antiquated right,
Pale in comparison to the blood on your money?
Decide that the love your God tells you to have
Might mean giving up what you cherish.
And if you can’t see that more guns mean more
Deaths by guns
Maybe pray a little bit harder.
But while you ponder and pore over data
More of your children will suffer.
And if you can’t see that you have the means for change
Give action a chance, be the lover.
