From the Wild
A wild pigeon ,every day
landing down on the rooftop
of my house's tin roof,
sometimes accompanied by another,
walking and pecking
where I sit,read,write
or relax on a mattress .
Other pigeons came too
but never return-
only he is a regular visitor.
My wife usually flaps
rice from the mill there
and puts some broken rice grains
on a sand pan for him.
As the days passed ,
he did not fly away
whenever I woke up to exercise
and walked in a circle around him.
Rather, he came closer
and closer to me.
I felt closer relationship between us
developed in course of time.
