From a Monster's Prayer
I know I am a beast inside,
for I have sinned and I have lied.
How many tortured nights I've tried
down on my knees to pray.
Out of the well springs of my soul,
I rant to heaven "Make me whole!"
but ancient spells still have a hold,
down to this very day.
A beast I am
A beast I'll be
until you show your grace to me,
for I have gone astray.
The midnight hour comes on so fast,
and I must find my next repast,
then some poor soul will breathe it's last...............
before the break of day.
