From a Balcony In Ankara

From a balcony in Ankara
Exotic birds swoon
Pigeons sit on roof tops
Awaiting on the moon
Traffic noises hum
Children’s voices clash
Banging pots and pans
For the evening dinner rush

Crockery and cutlery
Tapping out a rhythm
Chinking Turkish tea glasses
Adding to the sound
Scraped back chairs
Washing up
Hustle bustle crescendo
Then silence
Full stomachs
contentment
From a balcony in Ankara

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

I love this so much! He reminded me of a balcony in Istanbul Where I would watch the people from the balcony at the liquor store below. We had names for them,, the drunk man, the gray cat, the blonde dog, the footballer. And so many birds. I miss it desperately.
