From National Geographic
a mouse frolics in the sunny meadow,
'neath the grass slithers
a snaky shadow.
a short, smothered squeak, a muffled struggling,
flowers flirt with the breeze with
nary an inkling.
a feathery blur plummets from the sky
with razor-sharp talons and
a cruel cry.
rips the serpent with its cold, crooked beak,
then flies off to feed its young
nestled at the peak!
