Frightening Nostalgia

  
      Remember when ‘long hair’ and ‘shaved head’ were freaky
          What? ~ Did you sail on the Kon-tiki?

      Remember when baseball cards cost five cents a pack
          There’s a price that’ll never come back  

      Remember when ‘Kool-Aid’ was a refreshing drink
          Advertising made us unable to think

Now, without buying habits changing, same cartful of groceries, $220-290 dollars. :( Gershon Wolf February 12, 2026 at 8:57 PM How about a can of tuna fish for 29 cents and a jar of peanut butter for 39 cents? Or a loaf of bread for 29 cents. But that was a while back. lol. In 1974, I spent an average of twelve - fifteen dollars a week on groceries: Single, PB and J every day for lunch. Cereal for breakfast. Popcorn for dessert. So healthy. lol.
