Friendship Bound

Friendship Bound

One day the whole of me disappeared
I was left alone in a shell of despair
			with but maimed memories, confined
			behind dull unbreachable walls,
trapped by fate in this cold chair
faraway within I sealed my smile
			fighting invisible mad immured
in cruel moments with no escape
but when in this frozen world
you saw me bound whole you
						poured your warm black soul
					into mine, unfolding time itself,
back from oblivion I was brought
you tore the pain away in friendly
				peals of laughter that ricocheted
in my heart in arabesque patterns,
you spun my wheels, flew me up
and down like a bubbly African spirit
in a trance, and night crumbled,
my days mended, and my smile
				went sailing home friendship bound.

Solomon, there is so much good in the heart of men; if only they would take the time to drop their masks and talk to each other:)

I thought I would surprise you with this poem, so when you made your request, I was happy of course to have picked a movie you liked and sad because you've already seen it several times . . . Have you ever seen 'Jean de Florette' w/Gérard Depardieu?

A beautiful poem dedicated to a beautiful human being. Anne Marie, your words touch me and show me your heart. Darren is not only an amazing poet but an amazing person. His friendship and caring, in spite of all that he faces in his life, are never ending. His attitude fuels me daily and brings a smile to my face, as does your beautiful poetry. Very nicely done.

You did! This is incroyable :) Just as Omar Sy is, and François Cluzet! Strange enough I always dance in my mind to this music, just can't get enough of it. And I love the film SO MUCH!!! Anne-Marie, your poem is beautiful.... sigh.... and it dances on the screen, it's shape :) You tore the pain away, and made it into something beautiful. Thank you so much.

Darren, if it dances on the screen it is totally because of you. You always pour your heart and spirit into your poems and many of them seem to dance in some way across the page. You are an incredible inspiration my friend. Yeah, Omar Sy and François Cluzet were impossibly good in that movie and I, like you, have seen it many times.
