Friends Come, Friends Go

Friends come, friends go: This Earth is so Some I make, Death must take -- I know Acquaintances are many, but Perhaps the most unkindest cut Is one that happened long ago George was the best friend that I'd had Until he went and made me mad He stole my girl, and did he strut! Friends come, friends go When I found out, I yearned to go And punch George out, from head to toe I'd hit him hard right in his gut Then to his jaw an uppercut Oh, my. Would I put on a show! Friends come, friends go

When I was a child I had no idea that some of my childhood friends would remain my good friends for over fifty years; I guess we keep some forever. Nice rhymes!

Yes, some friends do, indeed, come and stay. They're the true-blue ones. :) gw
