Fried Apple Pies and Other Tidbits

When I think of dessert, you come to my mind How delicate__ flaky crust__ crumbles with a touch Then on the inside those apples slightly tart spring Forth bursting out of the crust that held them there Ummmm...those fried apples pies of yore When mother fried them in no less than side meat You know those drippings of it fried earlier Do you remember also those pies, my dear? Have not eaten one in years but what does doctor Know about health__daddy lived to be ninety-seven Mother lived those years too and what about Aunt Euvela she lived to be ninety-eight ate Bacon everyday of her life and eggs I think that I will cook some of those Fried Pies Enough to share with everyone on soup Can you catch a whiff of those apples cooking?

Congratulations Sara on your worthy poem's win. Yes I think I did catch a wiff Sara. My Grannie, I am sure you've read the poem on soup I wrote about her, fried the best chocolate pies in the world. Believe it or not, in her last years, just to give her a break from making anything much for Christmas dinner. Her contribution was chocolat fried pies. Everone loved them so much, that is mostly all they ate for dessert. Smile. Agape, Moses

We seem to be fed a lot of propaganda about what is good for us to eat. I believe the true culprit is sugar, not eggs that are rich in phospholipids that negate their cholesterol content. Interesting "food" for thought, Sara. Best wishes in the contest, Carolyn

Nice poetry---Yummm!!!Did you ever boil milk rice (a special round rice) with vanilla and sugar and on top a layer of boiled apples with vanilla and cinnamon---that tastes great! I also go for the French style apple tarts!!!Very goood!--Thank you for your comments and have a great Sunday!...Gert
