Elis Artis Poet Free verse

Friday

You’ve been sick since Tuesday
I can’t afford to lose you, babe
I can’t live without you

So let me take off all these tubes
let me free you of these chains
let me help you break out of this prison

I can’t live alone
please let me take you home
let me bathe us in this holy water
this golden holy water
let me bless the whole house with it
every corner of it
and light it up
then stay there ‘till we see the light

So we can finally be together forever
