Freelance Romance

I saw the universe inside your eyes, missing the self loathing that was within; Ignoring my past and what had just been; Flames expelling carbon monoxide highs replenishing the hit as my bruise dies; At the start of euphoria all in then you feel the smile dissipate again; Lying in bed reduced to battle cries; Not receiving the message that this sends; So many words and now we are strangers; Lusty looks are now just a passing glance; Again? I already know how this ends; Wanting a timeless song not just bangers; Stuck in a cycle of freelance romance.
