Freedoms Cost

Many white crosses

We have suffered such losses

All for freedoms sake

A precious gift they all gave

Our beautiful country saved...

White crosses of marble, some are even of wood. They are placed to remember, where once they stood > touching tribute Sharon >> :)

Thanks for reading my poem and your kind and encouraging comment. Your poem "Freedom Cost" was well written and very patriotic. It is sad so many die for us.

Sharon, those white crosses in Arlington Cemetery make us realize how many lives were sacrificed to preserve our freedom. A wonderful tanka, dear! Love, Carolyn

Sharon, very deep to a point. My great grandfather fought and is buried under one of them white crosses, along with a few of his army buddies. A beautiful country some will fight for and gave their lives for our gift" Love it ( Lin~RA )
