Freedom

When i think of my life. I think of a darker shade of grey, I feel i have been a product of an environment. I feel that i have been branded with a United States Government stamp on my ass. All my life i have been told what to do by doctors, judges, social workers, police officers, and the list can stretch on for miles. But today i choose to break free from these invisible shackles and bust out of this cage which has brought me so much pain and despair
and TODAY I CHOOSE TO BE MY OWN MAN. I CHOOSE TO BE FREE.
No longer will i have to listen to the drones of our society and no longer will i have doctors try to feed me with a little pill here or a pill there so i can be acceptable to a society that wouldnt accept no matter how i came at them.

Today I come as i am and that is all i expect from myself

I am Jacob Lammerman And I am Free

First off, Welcome. Second, thank you for your comment. Third, this is a good poem. I liked it. Its good to be free, but even in freedom you can be a captive. I liked how you expressed your feeling in the beginning. And i liked the ending. Keep up the good work. =)
