Freed At Last

After being caged
After being tortured
After being down
There comes the lone voice
From the wilderness
Hooting “Free at last”.

Are we indeed free?
Free indeed from odour of gaol
Permeating fast through the air
Freed with chains all cover
Freed with pains hanging over
But I’m freed from within
Freedom radiating from
The abysmal of my heart.
