Free Yourself
FREE YOURSELF
In the stillness of the night,
when your eyes are closed tight
and the only noise you can hear
is your heart beating softly in your ears.
Empty your mind and picture a butterfly.
A butterfly that is free, free to fly.
Or a bird flying high in the sky.
Free to fly, fly away, fly.
Are you free like a bird flying over the sea?
Or like a butterfly flying, spreading its wings for you to see?
Are you free to do what you want to do
and not to do what you have to do?
There is always a battle or a war in your mind,
between right and wrong or good and bad,
between positive and negative thinking,
between being your true self and pretending.
Or you probably set your mind with restrictions and limitations
imposed upon you or your self-imposed inflexible actions.
or for other reasons, only you could know
that you have been holding on and cannot let go.
Change your what if, cannot and do not
to I will try, I can, I will and drop the if and not.
When there is a will, there is always a way.
When you are adaptable and flexible, you will surely find the way.
Free your mind of other peoples expectations.
Do not let them define you based on their opinions.
Free yourself from any grudges.
Forgive and look beyond the bitterness.
Set yourself free from any guilty feelings
and any secrets or hidden things
by forgiving yourself and bringing the hidden things
out in the open or confessing to one self.
Clear your mind and heart from your load or heaviness
of pride, worry, unbelief and selfishness.
Open your heart to expectation, belief and humility.
It will make you feel lighthearted and free.
Freeing yourself will uplift you.
It will bring out the care free spirit within you.
Being care free will lift you higher and higher.
Like a butterfly or a bird free to fly away or higher and higher.
