Free Verse On Love
Your face lays soft on the surface of my mind
a deep reflection beneath the shadow of my soul
that leaves me smiling in the twilight of life
as I wonder about love from long ago
that dwells with the lost rainbows sought
from love's desires
when our eyes melted between ripples of time
and lips were formed to feel the breathless moments
captured in the palms of love's passion
kept in yesterday's misty dreams of hunger filled
when warm raindrops were counted
as they splashed against the window of the dawn
where love hid in seclusion...
from the soft golden glow of the sun
searching our skins like dewdrops
falling from flowered petals opening
to embrace the light...caressing us
like feathered wings lifting our souls away
in gentle flight to another time, another place
that's now a jeweled memory
I hold close, in the silent glorious intimacy
that dwelled in the heart of our love
