I am the odd one here, I move through life like a cool breeze on a warm day and try not to get involved with the day to day coming and going of humanity, which at some point long ago I realized was an insane creature bent on self-destruction, so I manage to keep out of humanity's way and try to teach wisdom to my grand-children keeping my spirituality a sanctuary to be entered by no one, the arguments people have over their beliefs with one another is odd, tells me their souls aren't at peace

You are far more evolved in maturity of thought along the food chain from the majority of most of us plebeians, I congratulate you on your zen like disposition Herr Parker and the wisdom you impart to your grandchildren, which will stay for a little while in their minds, until they make their own inevitable slip ups along the way, as we all have done in our youth and some of us continue to do so into maturity, while questioning and learning within the narrowing space of time throughout the remaining days of our lives. Some are more complacent than others, some are at peace with their maker or the source of power they worship internal or other worldly and of divinity, some are more wise, some are forever making mistakes, learning and questioning. That is the human condition. Everyone is the odd one here. What matters is you are a good soul. With love, as always, Leanne.

True Kelli. We are all on our individual journey. It is not all Unicorns, Fairies and Rainbows, as we all well know. Some have the journey more smooth and their road is clearer and less littered than others. I wrote this at a time of the year, that is very hard for many people. Some fall into great oceans of blackness. I wrote so anyone feeling that, would know they are not alone, ever. For some it's harder to reach out for help than others. The poem had LOVE, care and concern, behind it. xx

A beautiful and caring soul composed this magnificent gem. As to poets/writers and others oft feeling depressed during this holiday season when they are lonely, abandoned and not at all loved or appreciated, some of us know far too well such blues/depressions. Greatest guard against doing that which is unthinkable is faith in God and divinely promised resurrection. Your creation a gem and a fav- Merry Christmas wishes to you and yours.

Many people get caught up in the frenzy of Christmas and the financial sinkhole it has become. Many people become depressed more so around this time of year for many reasons. If one were to tout the good book, I think these passages are the ones to keep in mind: Romans 12:10; Matthew 1:23; James 1:17. But the most important thing is to have compassion and love for ALL (those who celebrate Christmas or not) at this time of year (and throughout the year) and to be aware of those outside of yourself, who may be doing it tough and/or alone. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments above with relation to faith in Jesus Christ / God. Merry Christmas Robert to you and yours. Thanks for your friendship. Leanne. xx

"Magic" is completely necessary to survive. Irrespective of what day Jesus of Nazareth was born, the fact that we celebrate his birth at this time of year, is to me "Magic". However he was resurrected and survived, was "Magic". The birth of my child, came through "Magic". To me LOVE is the pure essence of "Magic". "Magic" is completely necessary to survive and "Magic" is the instrument through which dreams do and will come true, if you believe in "Magic". When all else fails we are here to love, not to hate, patronise, force our ideology or illusion on our fellow man. The jekyll doesn't hide from real life and pain, depression. A real man/woman won't put down a wounded soul but instead will reach out a hand, lend a caring ear, offer a supportive word, or an act of love. Life is for living.

A lot of people feel very low at Christmas. Let them have their depression and brevity with dignity and if you want to gift them anything, gift them love and comfort.

I know you do Tom. You are good soul and that is why you are my friend. I can't wish you Merry Christmas, as you do not celebrate it. So I send you and your lovely wife, much love at this time and all the best for 2020. I will be off page for a while now. I agree with most of what you say below. With the exception of Matthew. Matthew was alienated from his children, he was not an alcoholic, nor drug addict, nor a criminal. He was suffering severe clinical depression and more than likely ptsd from being alienated from his children. But I do agree with your comment on 'chasing illusions'. I have read all of your poems and stories and I understand from our conversations, how well you empathise and write about loneliness. x

I'm thinking that when I relocate, I may donate my extensive library of books and music to the Homeless Shelter. It will be too expensive to transport o/s, when that time occurs. Yes it is a sad time for many people, all who have interesting stories to impart, but they are passed by through ignorance. Sometimes the true meaning of Christmas is lost in commercialism, for those whose religion and culture celebrate Christmas. Christmas should be a time of peace, love, joy and giving more than gifts wrapped in expensive paper, but giving something more of value, care, comfort, love and attention. x

It's so sad Leanne. Many feel hopeless and all alone and just watching others good cheer eats hard at their soul..a kind word, a cup of coffee, a smile...just a little token to let others know there is good and love in the world and it's worth living...is it that hard to live with love in your heart and offer it to others....I don't believe it is... sending hugs T xxx

I was thinking about Matthew who committed suicide in Room 10, 4 doors away from my room last Christmas and what must have transpired between he and his wife, for Matthew to be alienated from his children in another country. He was a writer and a poet. He was at one stage a senior marketing executive for a high profile international bank. To end up in a homeless refuge and to commit suicide in his room, he must have been at a place of such terrible depth of depression to consider there was no other option. I wish I had met him properly and had time to sit and talk with him. I would have collaborated with him. This is what triggered off me writing Free Falling last night. So before you go throwing your good book/s at anyone, please consider the people who are without home and family and who at Christmas may need your care and attention. Merry Christmas. x
