Freckled With Stars
Venus peeks down from above:
admiring Earth's azure seas.
And instantly falls in love
with Earth, and all that She sees.
The tides rise and ebb offshore,
lured by the pull of the moon.
And tethered forevermore,
oceans waltz to Luna's tune.
Shrouded, in shadows of black:
Night's curtain and Dusk align.
And yet, as time draws it back:
in the folds, twinkling stars shine.
The Night is freckled with stars,
piercing an ebony sky.
And a reddish blush tints Mars;
as a shooting star streaks by.
