Frantic Escape Sleepwalking

There was a smart young lad named Blaze
stress and nervousness on test days
tried to "calm down," laugh and talk.
The night before he'd sleepwalk,
he’d find himself in the dawn rays.

I'm told that I had an uncle who sleep walked. He died before I was born. I've had one occasion that I can recall where I actually awoke from a walk. It was rather trauma-driven, after caring for my late father who died with dementia. A well done piece, this one.

My cousin sleepwalks! The stories his wife tells. Good one, Eve!

This is a great take for the contest, I am sure thst it will do good in it but still I wish you best of luck, anyway what about his result, is it a real story or a fiction? In May I had given my GCSE exams and I am still waiting for the result (it is on 15 August) God, I still remember that even though my preparation was full, there was so much tension that I couldn't sleep through nights and I am still nervous about my result, good luck

Thank you, Faraz, yes this is a true story. My son would always stress when a test would come around. Hugs Eve

Great for the contest Eve! Is amazing that someone can sleep that soundly. I wake up if anything moves or breathes. Once I made my son get up to shower because he fell asleep with his clothes on and needed a shower. I came in the bathroom and he was standing there in the tub asleep in his wet clothes. The next day he didn't remember a thing! : )

I was also tensed on test days causing disturbance in sleep. Sleep walking is better to release tension. All the best.

Eve, thanks for sharing your Blaze tale. At least he didn't sleepwalk outside and walk right into a mule as my brother did when we were kids! Janice

Only thing worse than waking on in the dawn rays on the lawn is to do so and realize I'm without clothes or key. My only covering is my watch which informs me that I slept thru the exam ;). Fun write, Eve!!

Lyric Man, I didn't want to say it but he would get up to go to the bathroom, but instead of the bathroom he would walk to the garbage can in the kitchen and pee in it then go back to bed. I would never wake him up or punish him for it. This would always happen before a test or something important. He finally grew out of it.

Tom, my son always sleepwalk when he had something going on at school that made him nervous. I never woke him, but a couple of times it was embarrassing :-).
