Fragile Contest
Strands of tenuous images drift on my mind,
as the gas light blinks endlessly
with a harlequin moon, squinting around
borders of aged, fragile reveries
when early origins begin to slowly unfold:
And nightfall’s hours plead for replays
while I hover in limbo from a spell—
that memoirs glide along time’s interludes,
outpouring secrecy of my thoughts
until hands etch a visual language much like
the drama and comedy from life’s decades,
between moments of angst and grandeur…
a personal legacy nudging me to essay
or note down regrets, breakthroughs
from an aging heart , making me one,
old student in this brittle world: unknowingly,
above a court of knighted stars ,
my frail fingers grasp a pen, now ablaze.
