Fourth Phase of Adoration: Desire O’clock

Shall I not sing of thine beauty,
When mine eyes set gaze upon thee, fair maiden?
Glory, glory to the Creator,
He who hath blessed thee with such splendour.
For thy laughter doth shape mine days,
And strolls with thee
Are tales one ought to brag of unto his mates,
For the pride they gift.

This romantic free verse adopts a warmly elevated, almost courtly voice to celebrate the beloved’s beauty, laughter, and companionship. The religious note of gratitude gives the admiration added sincerity, while the final image of proudly sharing those walks with friends makes the affection feel personal and grounded.
