Four Special Friends
The cheery and noisy Convention Hall
will honor many intellectual minds in the land of opportunity and freedom;
these poets are making lots of acquaintances while having a real ball!
Some of them I recognize from their blogs;
others seem unfamiliar but exchange hugs,
telling one another where they are from.
Next to me are sitting: Carolyn Devonshire
Linda-Marie and the inimitable John Heck,
and while sipping wine, we engage in an interesting subject...
the one that will amuse us for a limited time;
needless to say, there's no hint of rivalry or envy on our part
as we break into laughter and seal this memory into the heart!
Glad to have come and have met these four special friends,
who always have been helpful to an amateur poet in need of help and advice...
I admire how they have made a name for themselves,
and thinking of them while returning home, their smile will cheer up my day!
Thank you, friends for attending this convention in late May...
all I wish you is: showers of happiness and a long, blessed life!
