Four Frogs

How can we sleep tonight? Distant thunder raids our land How can we sleep on green? Smoking heavens curse us And earth takes us in We see the flight of the night Death sullies our door The street is blurred outlines And we are still four. The sullen planets get their day The spiky wind blows The desert sands are heat and dirt Skin to skin and heart to heart We are in death throes In the east the irate sun broods We wander off into the woods In frozen heart moored to our trust We tread on brave trampling our past To reach and rest on destined shores We frogs are all on fours
