Formal Ambitions

The rule book Of Society rules We either live by the rules Or be ruled unfit: Toe the line Walk that fine line Keep in line But never cross the line; Speak up Speak when spoken to Speak politely But never speak out of turn; Mind your manners Mind where you look now Mind your Mama Oh just never mind; Look out Watch out Just let it play itself out But never let it out; Come when called Come along now Come here Just never come alone. But sometimes The line between formal And informal Ambition Blurs And I come Unspoken Alone In my mind Without you Playing it out With both feet Planted firmly Over the line.

The great thing about manners and wisdom, is that they are free to all. It beggars belief the amount of people who don't know how to use both. Another wisdom filled piece Deb >> James :)

Hi Deb.I think this is neat. It's truth, life and a little touch of cynisism and the rebel in you I should imagine.I absolutely love it ,the way it reads, the rhythm, the words, fantastic!Thank you.It gave me lots of pleasure reading it,I also think it's clever and I am making it one of my favourites.Love June(S)
