Forgotten North

FORGOTTEN NORTH My Grief is fog The sea is wild Head winds are still And I am lost. I turn to land. The rocks too sharp. I have no map The road is gone. Biting Rocks Bleeding feet. Burning Ice floes follow me In blinding void I am lost. The compass twirls And East turns West. The sky is black. & I am lost. My North is gone Forever gone. And I am lost Forever Lost. Jack...always happy to hear your comments. This was written when I was missing my mother, now deceased, but it is really a work about loss.....V

Andrea....glad you like it. Dark poetry is difficult to write without becoming maudlin. I have been house sitting where there is no internet...bummer, but am looking for a new place where there is wifi...too many tourists in town (fishing derbies are big in Alaska) will find a place when summer ends. Love, Vic
