Forgotten Field Of Forever

Thinking back, in daze and all glassy-eyed Remembering back when, when I was young Yesterday's afternoon, I nearly cried I guess my age now made me feel high strung That life field, I played at so long ago My friends and I built forts and sleigh rid there And still, the plants that I planted- still grow My sister's flowers, from her love and care Wonder why, no one plays there anymore We'd have so much fun there when were tots Children really don't play outside no more Computer games have their hands tied in knots As I sit in silence, thinking back then Those good old days were the best, way back when

What a beautiful sonnet, so well constructed. The past will not be forgotten for we lived a better life.

I think about this alot, and sometimes visit the places I played during my youth. But you're right, today's generation of youth have no ambition to be outdoors much. Video games, social media etal keep them indoors. So sad
