Forgotten

Blood unite
Blood collide

In her womb
You were a parasite
In her breast
You fed
And in your father's blood
You lived

What you know
Is only where you stand
And the bloodline
Forgotten

You cannot deny
You cannot defeat
It's running in your vein
The pulse I feel
The beat of your heart I hear

You decide
Whether to look back or not
For in the grave
They will rest
Awhile...
Waiting...

They walk in heaven
Watching you from the stars above
Their hearts singing in agony
Watching you carry the cross

In her womb
Her heartbeat was once your lullaby
Blood collide
Blood unite
If. Again.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Hi Linda! Thank you for the very friendly welcome :-) It's my first time to write actually. And what funny of me is that i don't even know the kinds of poem so when I was publishing my work here on poetry soup I just click and click on the choices given. I just love to write straight from my heart as I do when I paint. See you around ;-)

Hi there! thank you for appreciating my poem. It's my first time to write. I was cleaning up my bag and then saw a picture of a very old couple (my grandparents) then suddenly I grab a paper and pen because my mind couldn't stop what my heart dictates. I don't even know what kind of poem it is because I don't have a background in writing anything. Nice meeting you here Victoria :-)

Hi Mandy! It's my first time to write a poem, i don't even know what kind of poem I was writing when I wrote this. So what I did is just click and click and then type my poem. I don't have a background in writing. I just love to write anything from my heart as I do when I paint :-)
