Forgotten
Forgotten
Even now, the seas swell farewell,
Once certain migrations bid adieu,
Smiling sunrise, once filled with love, now blisters to ash,
From my vantage point, perched
On a boulder above the past, I see the Earth melt in the sky,
Reminded of changes seen before,
Wishing only, that I could see you smile again, in fields of plenty,
Untouched by life’s cruel past.
Forgiveness bears weight no more,
Words that carried heartache and hope, now drift upward,
Like tendrils of smoke, uniting with clouds that comfort stars,
Lost in time…….. The ball, sent bouncing by a little boy, fades in the distance,
With no chance of return.
Higher ground, once sought as a refuge from the storm, does not exist.
Answers, plotted with furrowed brow, remember not their maker,
Remember not,
Their maker
