Forgiving Heart

I went to pay my heart a visit and boy was it in bad shape, A patch here, some stitches there and lots of duct tape. It tried to show resilience to the damages, But being an empath has its disadvantages, So there was still fresh blood, seeping through the bandages. Instantly, I felt a deep painful compassion, How could I have been responsible for such non-compassionate action? For forgiveness I asked, as I fell to my knees, And as I wrapped my arms around it, I softly said, “Please!” It hugged me back tighter and into a full fledged scream I nearly burst, And more so, when it softly said, “Before I have forgiven others, I have always forgiven you first.”
