Forgiveness

Forgiveness

To let go of an act done to you
Choosing to drop the offense
That caused such pain
Such betrayal
The brokenness of your soul
An arrow straight to the centre of your heart
Trust broken in a million small pieces
A part of your heart scarred forever
New realities moving forward
Letting go of the grip of the destruction it caused
Slowly, cautiously
Letting go but not forgotten
Learning to trust again but, with trepidation
Wiping out the debt
Choosing….
Gradual and loosening freedom
Freedom comes liberally
No more anger
The pieces fit back together like a puzzle
Creating a whole and beautiful picture
Emerging new
Strength and healing
Created from brokenness
A gift from above
Forgiveness has come!!
