Forgetting 9-11
If and then only to remember
Forget not the lost lonely specters in gray ember
Passing by eerily, still passing by
Loose tendrils of humanity… fly away fly
You see me not in your beautiful haze
Skirt around; walk around in a heady daze
Failed recall of the twisted steel connectors…
Unburdened bliss, unaware that we are reflectors
Of a life so possible and just inches away
From all that you think you have, safely on your way
Back from this journey to the dark side
So easy now within your comfort to hide
Passing by carelessly, still passing by
Soon you won’t see us….and not even wonder why
