Forget Me Not

I thought
I was shouting into the void
holding my brush
dropping my colours into the canvas
listening to voices
memories
traces of longing
moments in time.

No magic wand
to wind words
and speak my feel and thought
Spellbinding are my brushstrokes
they are my language and song.

Forget me not
See me
an Artist
call me.

Step into my world
need not know how I translate my word
Just see, till you lose your senses
Ascend and leave behind all the fences
Touch what makes your spine clutch
Feel, till no ground under your feet.

Then respond
 reach for that bond
and learn

“Being seen matters”
Offering the gifts of the heart matters
Oozing audacity and joy
truly matters.

My fear might not disappear
but I am here
on a journey of no compeer
unlearning
understanding
embracing all that makes no sense
“Not knowing what to do next to grow”
Forget me not.

Brushstrokes as language, longing made visible. I feel it is a plea to be witnessed and not just seen.

I believe your interpretation of this painting is beautiful and what a lovely idea it was to write on an artist who is not recognised globally... Always great to support local artists.. i love the opening of your poem... it is deep and emotive... Congratulations on your first place in the contest..

"Forget Me Not", a so powerful message from an Artist who has a genuine voice, an inspiring mind, a skillful and artistic brush.. reminding us that they deserve not just a place and a space in the world but a remarkable one! I tried in my humble poem to give a voice to the painter and honour their humanity, fragility, and Art.. Silent One, I am in awe of what you are doing to give a space and a voice to all those amazing souls of given richness and recognise who they are and what they are able to achieve.. Your contest has profoundly spoken to my heart and mind and I am deeply grateful to you for all that you have been doing and adding to the world. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Stay always blessed and gifted.
