Notes About The Poem

Mom apparently is making the rounds. My sister had a vivid dream of our mom looking radiant and my daughter was surprised to see her grandma in her dream. Pray for a sweetheart-woman who just lost her mom - to join the club is heartbreaking. Still...to all moms out there, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! God bless you! And to any dads that might fill that roll, too.

Forget Me Not

Forget me not!
How could I?
It’s Mother’s Day…
The angel toppled over
alongside your house…
Dad’s house.
I upright her and lay
fallen red rose petals
on her lap.
I snap a picture
and show it to Dad -
he smiles. He smiles, Mom!
I sit on the couch,
open Facebook
and up pops us, Mom.
I posted this photo
two years ago.
It’s us, Mom!

You cannot but grieve on this day. Pity some people do not appreciate Mother's Day.

Those pop-up Facebook memories hit us like a gut punch. Seeing them brings tears of sadness, but joy in the moments we shared. Happy Mother's Day, Kim.
