Forest Haven

Forest shadows
Hiding grave secrets
Protecting her animals
Seeing humans for who they are
Keeping wise counsel

Revealing nothing
Sweeping secrets into her dead leaf piles
Allowing dust to dust
Sanctuary for some
Refuge for all

I live in this forest, Ann. I was out there, tromping around, looking for snakes, finding all kinds of hidden delights this morning.

Yes I think animals do see humans for what we are - and flee! (except our pets who see us as treat dispensers!)
