For You

If I could sing, I would sing a breezy ballad for you just like Ella And let the words linger for you my dear If I could dance, I would have graceful balance and toes tapping the music in a Fred morse code And let the steps celebrate you If I could discover, I would find a singing Spring robin no longer Rachel’s silent one And let it see your beautiful face If I could swim, I would be the trumpeter swan regally posing And reflecting peace for you my dear If I could last, I would be the old gnarled pine clinging to the dusty cliff Just to see you again If I could do all these things, I would for you
