Fantastic Boston Sunset, from a rooftop in Allston : pics

a sigh, beaming ... 'je n'ai pas peur' she answered though the question's intent was to part more than just lips. he latched her hand tugging her up the wrought iron spiral 'rooftops!' he cried, 'rooftops and red skies!' they ran out onto the tar-paper flat giggling like prayers the sun had just plunged the ragged city reach lighting the wispy cirrus ablaze a hundred shades of crimson swirled above dancing her gaze dark and dear and deadly dangerous. heaven there in those obsidian orbs, he mused an inky Zion afire ... a perfect abyss in which to drown. they ran to the edge and stopped, breathless he kissed her again, far deeper and waited ... 'i am not afraid' she repeated this time in his language and hand-in-hand they flew off into the eventide. ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Strand Pick 3, Any Theme, Any Form" Poetry Contest, Brian Strand, Judge & Sponsor.

Excellent choice for a #1 winner today. Greg, I am your anti-discouragement antidote. Take 2 and call me in the morning, lol. Cheers, buddy!

This subject seems to be your forte, Bard. I like the use of language as a poetic device, and the use of lips as a fulcrum between speaking, and, uh, well YOU KNOW..." Great write my friend; sensual but allowing the imagination to fill in the blanks. I like the sun "lighting the wispy cirrus ablaze".

Thank you so very much, John, I greatly appreciate the kind words ... I certainly enjoy writing in this style, and while Rhyme will always be my favorite, I think I'm sliding toward writing a novel, (which will probably be sci-fi or fantasy of some kind, I lean toward hard science fiction). I don't get any comments anymore anyway, (but yours and a couple others), unless I win a contest, so the discouragement is nudging me elsewhere, and while I'll be back to music full-time soon, I want to keep writing as well. We'll see. Blessings, Friend. :o)
