Notes About The Poem

For the Wandering

There is a quiet corner
for the wandering~
a place that gathers itself
just beyond the usual path.

Light settles there differently,
not bright, not dim,
just enough to soften the edges
of whatever arrives.

A single chair of shadow,
a small drift of air
that carries no urgency,
only the faint scent
of something unhurried.

Here, even thoughts
walk more slowly,
as if the ground beneath them
has learned to hold its breath.

Nothing calls you forward.
Nothing pulls you back.
It is simply a place
that waits without expectation~
a still pocket of the world
where the wandering
can rest without explanation.

"a small drift of air that carries no urgency, only the faint scent of something unhurried." -- Love that! "a still pocket of the world where the wandering can rest without explanation." -- Shangri-La. Lovely place you have found. Some maps to pass out to the rest of us...but that could spoil everything. Blessings. No, such real-estate God has given all us, each has own...one need only look deep enough. Back to Paradise Lost.

Your lovely poem captures the essence of a tranquil haven for those who are lost or in search of peace, Sara. It describes a serene space slightly hidden from the usual route, inviting one to pause and reflect without any pressure. Excellent
