The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

For the Sake of You

I’ve done everything you ask
But it’s never good enough
You just keep wanting more
And it makes it so rough

I can’t think of anything else
I’ve done all I possibly can
You still lack the faith
You still don’t act like a man

It’s always something more
Every time I turn around
Nothing can ever suffice
So you run me in the ground

I’m tired of never gaining
This is the last time I do
Anything with my heart
Just for the sake of you

You will never have faith
Then things will only fall apart
Again I won’t win anything
But a lonely broken heart

Sometimes I wonder why I tried
Why I never walked away
To escape the pain and tears
I put myself through day to day

I can no longer give to you
Everything you ever ask
Look inside to find some truth
If you ever want this to last

Hey. This one kind of reminds me of one of mine. You commented on my poem entitled 'Sandcastles' and I just wanted you to know that is exactly what i meant. the walls (castles) I keep putting up are around my heart and the ocean waves are the hear-breaks and sorrows of most of my past relationships. That one is my most creative because I turned our yearly family vacation to the beach in Florida for Christmas into my own life experiences. you're the first to ever understand what that poem meant.
