For the Birds: Contest
Rising from the ashes of broken wings
Eyes maroon. Body fiery red.
Wings engulfed in heavenly flames
The Phoenix shakes her red and gold feathers
Preparing to take off towards the sun
Birds of all color
Birds of all size
Birds of all majesty
Birds of all kind
Stand one by one
To watch her fly
Opening their beaks they harmonize in sound
Celebrating the birth of the one who rose from sins
Singing a song of sweet love and sorrow
Gracing her presence with hope for tomorrow
Raising each brilliant wing
She prepares to take off
With one last heartbreaking song
Her body ablaze she soars above
All alone higher and higher
She flies for the birds with broken wings
She flies for the birds with a song of no tomorrow
She flies for the birds.
