For Silence To Be Sweet Again

the whats-and-whys
of your omissions
have me pondering-wondering

how can you not know
that you torment me
and play havoc with my mind

sweet dreams do not come easily
when my heart palpitates
to rhythms of delirium

is that all there is
is that all we are
is there more or is this it

when i finally fall to sleep
the questions fade away
and silence is sweet again
