For Myself
ENCOURAGE CONTEST
I find that my best motivator is myself.
That doesn’t make me narcissistic, or unusual,
I just prefer to partake in intimate conversation
With myself,
Alone.
Others may feel the need to depend on others
But I believe others just haven’t found the right angle,
They haven’t listened deeply enough to their heart’s cry,
They haven’t sought out to see what their eyes are showing them,
To see the path they have subconsciously formed to help themselves,
Yet they are so quick to fall into the palms of others,
Who are merely others.
We all admittedly stumble into our own individual, seemingly eternally vast holes,
Glued to its pit with a sticky mixture of fatalism and hopelessness,
But somehow, in a mysterious yet evident manner,
We always manage to climb the gleaming rays shining perhaps even a
Single beam of light into our obscure hole,
Up to the plains of relief and elation,
Perhaps acknowledging the fact that the hole remains present,
But using its presence to lift us higher up,
Up to blissful days and merry clouds.
To encourage others is all but valuable if you can’t encourage yourself,
To find the courage to climb the beam,
To push yourself along the endless stream,
To find the end.
Though frustration grows with time and age,
It is but you who may free yourself truly,
And that uniqueness you behold, I think,
Is beautiful.
