For My Valentine

You are not only the sun that
lights my way and warms my skin,
you are the very sky and
the heaven it lies within.

You are not only my rock,
my strength, my health,
you are my foundation,
the Earth itself.

You are not only the air I breathe,
scented summer honeysuckle sweet,
you are the very atmosphere
sustaining, containing my love's heartbeat.

You are not only each
synapse of my brain,
you are the life-blood
coursing through my veins.

You are not only my sole
purpose for living,
you are life itself,
my end and my beginning.

You are not only the wind
beneath my wings, my blue sky,
you are the promise that
lets my soul fly.
