For Daniel Pelka

Your brief life was tragic, so sad from birth. Never knew love from one who gave you birth. Your silent cries only the angels heard Suffering to you was a living word. Where did these demons in human form come Who found pleasure in torture, pain for some? Whose souls were so barren of dignity So vile and vicious in their cruelty? You have your answers now, that is for sure, Daniel, your justice will forever endure. Cynthia Buhain-Baello~~~~03.10.16 Dedicated to Daniel Pelka, four-year-old beaten up and starved to death by his parents (who both died in prison).

This case was simply heartbreaking but sadly these tragedies still happen - I did a child protection course at work after he had died. I didn't realise both parents had died - a very moving poem:-) hugs Jan xx

It is such a shame the abuse wasn't picked up by other agencies - guess the parents were very good at pulling the wool over people's eyes and it breaks my heart to think of this poor wee lad and the abuse he suffered at the hands of those who were supposed to love and care for him:-( may he rest in peace:-) hugs Jan xx

Thank you Jan Allison. Cases like this do not get exposed or remedied because of people's indifference - the neighbors, friends, relatives. The mother committed suicide one day before Daniel's 5th birthday, and the stepfather was found dead in his cell a year after. The story is on the net but it still makes me cry when I think of how this child suffered.
