Notes About The Poem

For Caycay and Kyle

Hello Kyle
     It's been a while,
     I miss your smile :)

CayCay? Life has these habits, it grows on us
With tentacles we never asked for
In ways we never wanted, but we have no choice

But late at night when all is dark allusions of
grandeur in star- and moonlight, sing serenades
of connections through the distance,
a hand reaches out to say: here, here I am

     Kyle, I'm still the same
I love to play a game
And if I lose? Such a shame!

Wind carries voices, and sometimes longing
More often friendship through ages
What is age anyway?

So if you find me on the beach looking upward
Smile back and glide down that rainbow
That is there, always, even though
sometimes hidden behind clouds and rain

Kyle, next time you are free
     you will see
     A mail, from me

Lovely poem, Darren. Your poems for friends are the best gifts as they come from your heart. <3

I see this printed out and hung on his wall, where I shall always gladly pause to read your words again. That we cross your mind, is a gift, that we stay and linger enough to inspire your pen, is like magic sailing across my heart. You have touched me. You are love, Darren, and in the sharing of your love, we are blessed. Hugs ... CayCay FAV 7

I have watched the cursor blink, my mind unable to grasp any of the emotions rolling and soaring in me at this moment. To say I am touched is an understatement. There is an ethereal beauty to this that is a caressing and caring touch from across the ocean, yet a touch, untouched by distance. I am awed. Just saw your message. Kyle's asleep, but tomorrow he'll be right here, on this page and I know he'll be smiling. Going to Part 2

This is strangely moving, Darren. I say strangely, because there's far more feeling in the poem than the words seem to bear. But then, that's practically the definition of poetry itself, isn't it?

Michael, you've absolutely nailed that. I am writing this for a Poetry Soup friend, and I am deliberately keeping ot 'woolly' :)
