For a Poet Albeit

For a poet, albeit,
Recognition’s elusive,
It’s not the exclusive
Measure of treasure.

I know half my stuff is trite or ordinary, but I got some amazing stuff along the way that has won prizes for me and made me feel so proud and happy. You just never know the gem you will produce from any one given topic. Keep up with your great fervor and love for both reading and writing. I expect to see many more poems from you!! ( I too wrote about the editing process, about Soup, etc.) You seem to have a lot in common with me!

Maybe I'm midway between you and Trump. Your pages are a treasure trove, and it's fun to randomly pick poems from your pages. I look for the rhymes, but loved some that weren't.

Hannah , you remind me so much of myself when I started out (in my mid-40's) writing poems. I wrote this kind of poetry and questioned if I could produce more poems, etc. One day complaining to a poetry peer that my muse could not produce so much as she, that girl gave me really good advice. She said, Do as many challenges as you can. Just sit there and think a bit and DO IT. Since that day, I went from 100 poems to possibly three thousand by now.

Thanks so much for offering encouragement! However, could you see Trump writing poems? By the topics of my poems, it's obvious I'm the downtoearth type. There's a lot less muse going on, although, as described in the herein query, I'm patting myself for my few poems.

I doubt your imagination's gone flaccid//More like a wit dropping acid//Blows my mind//but I find//tis more fun than synapses gone placid

fame is not the only measure by which to deem a poem a treasure; what an awesome line and so true. I'm glad I happened upon your poetry.

This poem sounds light, but it's heartfelt. I'm awed by some of the brilliant poems I come across. They should be more valued than diamonds, which are actually abundant.

Your poems are good. I like how unserious and fun you make them. They put a smile a face. I'd like to read more.

Thanks, but I'm groping for a topic. Don't have the emotional awareness or vocabulary

Yes, I do see some resemblance but I was referring to forgetting more than anything else. Very well written.
