Footprints In the Stars

walking on stars of time,
each of our feet descend
into a sparkling ether

between the interlude
and the finale in
an absurdity of existence,
each step will fall away
marking its journey

showering the universe
in the star-dusted footprints
all these passing poets
from a neon time,
will find,
a softer grace in time

So many stars and so many footprints, Jayne. We make such a slight impression during our lives and when our time has passed, these footprints are all that remain. Especially enjoyed the second verse where you mention the "absurdity of existence" and how each step falls away. Very thought-provoking, intuitive poem. Love, Carolyn
